I don't mind it. Everything happens for a reason. One reason is because the theater has a lower occupancy level because the recliners take more space so in the event of a theater selling out they would like the consumer to know before they buy the tickets that only the front row is available or you won't be able to sit next to your friends. So imagine if they didn't have reserve seating and the theater is packed now you have to wait for a manager to help you to get a refund after you already paid for concessions. It also stops people from coming in 2 hours early in the theater to watch their movie. They already chose their seat so they can take the extra time walking around the mall or go to concessions. It also prevents kids from sneaking in to rated r movies, movie hoppin, so you are guaranteed your seat even when someone isn't supposed to. Sure it's hard to get used to and easy to hate when you lack the knowledge as to why it is a thing but it's for all the good reasons
You'll sit where they tell you, buy you don't have to like it.
When you first get there, the computer recommends a seat for you, but you have the option to choose from whatever’s available.
Or, maybe the seat was reserved? People still do that.
I have never had a problem with seating.
You get to choose your seat so that's a fine concession for me I love their theater and the seating is really comfortable
I've been there a number of times and every one of those times I have had the opportunity to choose Where I wanted to sit when I bought my ticket. Their system recommends a seat. However, you can pick whatever available seat you want.
