It is the oldest alley which is still in use i.e people still reside in elfreths alley. I believe it has been inhabited from 1700's
It is the oldest continuously inhabited street in English-speaking North America. Interesting to see and hear the history but it is basically a block of old houses sandwiched between a freeway and commercial buildings. The area in general is nice to explore as there is lots of history, but dont go for just this.
