I just moved to Louisiana from out of state with a valid DL from that state. Am I able to get a Louisiana driver's license here?

No, for your initial Louisiana driver's license you'll need to make a trip to the DMV/OMV unfortunately. Make sure to bring proof of residence (2 types), SS, Passport of you've got one.

I was able to get a Louisiana license with my valid Utah license. I also brought my SS card, birth certificate, and proof of residence. They took my Utah license and with everything I had proving who I was gave me my Louisiana license.

I called and was told that I'd have to go to the OMV(DMV) as Steve stated for me to get my CO driver's license to a LA one along with 2 proofs of residence and SS card. There was mention by word of mouth that I may even need to bring in my birth certificate. I now wonder if that's true.
