Go in and ask them at the beginning of court. But don't expect anyone to be nice to you. They are all about getting their money and criminalizing traffic infractions that in other states are minor, especially of its your first time getting a ticket! Greedy money hungry place! Made me happy to move back to New York!
If it is a criminal case then show up on your court date and ask for a new court date. If you cannot show up (presumably why you need it changed) then you will need to hire an attorney or change your schedule.
