I haven't been here in years. I've heard it changed to an even rockyer trail system then it was in 2010. Does any one have thoughts on this. Also I'm looking for a spot to camp and fish hopefully close to the water

I can't say what the trails are like as I have only been down the lower section of the Uwharrie River on a kayak but it's possible some of the trails look a bit different this year considering all the flooding from Hurricanes Florence and Michael last year. I attempted a run down the Uwharrie River last year 2 weeks after Michael only find several of the local roads were impassable due to flooding or closed altogether because the roadway had been washed away. On 6/22/19 I was on the river and the flood damage was still noticeable but I believe for the most part everything is back to normal.

The trails are ok, but very trashy due to people camping and fishing along the shore. The shoreline is becoming very eroded due to boat traffic. There is camping along the shoreline and it's still beautiful in spite of development and boat traffic. We saw a lot of wildflowers along the trail and 💚
