There are designated primitive camp sites that you are allowed to pitch a tent for free, call the local ranger station for more information....at the camp ground sites which have pit toilets, there is a minimal fee.

If you camp in the designated camping grounds, you'll have to pay. If you go off on a hiking trail and find your own camping spot, it's free.

There are paid sites and primitive sites. There are signs that indicate where you cannot camp. If there is no sign you are free to camp. That being said you need to get a trail pass from the outpost. The pass is $5.00.

There are camp grounds where you pay but you can also find primitive camp sites located thru out the forest. Please obey all forest rules and use common sense.
