Theirs fishing across the road to the park The campground is close to it for walking. But there is parking across to the fishing. The state park itself is on the harder side to walk into. But it's still great Have a great time.
Across from the North Entrance is Miller's you can fish there. The South Entrance people go across the guard rail and do some fishing around that area.

No, the park is rugged. Heavy forest, steep cliffs and very hilly. To my knowledge, Shabona State Park has some of the best fishing in the state and there is camping too. It's about 1.5 hours west of Chicago, out near 39.
