Absolutely Would! There is nothing better than starting off early, and catching up or getting on can be much fun as well, especially since it's already around, may as well make good use of it.

Definitely get guitar lessons. I started when I was nine and it shaped me as a person. Don't think they teach dulcimer, but I would look at other teaching establishments.

8 years old is a great age to start. They offer guitar, drum, keyboard, vocal, recording and DJ lessons. Not sure dulcimer is on the menu but you could call and ask.
