Is there a big voiced hand drum with good bass and high rim sound, like a Klong Yaw or Timbal? Which store should I go to?

The Guitar center in Matthew will be the place to go for hand percussion, None of the music stores that I visit in Charlotte have timbales on in stock .

I don't know if Guitar Center would be my first choice, but I would look at Sam Ash, they carry more hand drums. You might want to look at a djembe or a conga, I don't know what you're specifically looking to do with your drum. We used to have a guy here locally, that would make custom hand drums,.but he moved to Virginia. Hope this helps!
