Call a cat rescue in the area and ask for a humane trap, and they can help set it up to catch the cat and then you'll need to have blood work done, and then update on shot, spay and neuter and microchip. Keep him in a quiet room with a litter box, food and water , keep food and water away from litter box. And speak softly and move slowly as not to frighten him until they become adjusted to their area. Keep all other doors closed if he gets loose they bolt for the nearest opening. It takes time and patience and understanding for both of you to adjust, and once that happens, you'll have the best bed-mate ever. I know, I've had 7. Good luck!!
there closed except for animal control emergencies, Call in A.M. or drive in drop it off to them .
