Reservations are recommended as soon as you can, up to 6 months ahead.
We were able to just walk in and there were plenty of free tables for 2, and even a meet & greet with all the Winnie the Pooh characters. Then again, this was near the park's closing on, I believe, a weeknight. Probably still best to make a reservation, but if you don't have one, dropping by to see if you're lucky couldn't hurt.
