I have done some type of injury to my right hand and wrist that feels permanent. I awoke from a strange sleep and might have injured it that way or also IV use which I suspect as well

Well Eric it sounds like "wrist drop," a condition caused by a long period of resting on arm until it gets numb. Its not permanent nerve damage, but temporary. About 30 days until your hand,fingers,and wrist will return to normal. Thanks Eric for answering Eric's question. No thank you for asking.
