Bring the dog to the Humane Society
Call the Connecticut Humane Society. They will set up a hot line case. This is where you give them all the info on your dog and why you need to surrender him. This info is passed to their incoming dept and they will call you back. It may not be the same day. They will see if they have room and when you can bring him in. Good luck. I know this is hard. I went through the same thing with one of my cats. I had to surrender her because she was getting bullied by one of my other cats. She really needed to be an only cat. They found her a fabulous new home. Also, if you are able to drive, they also have shelters in Waterford and Westport. The hotline is for all locations. You tell them which you want to go to. I don't know what space they have, but if you're able to give them more than one location it may speed things up. I don't know.
I don't know. I would call them and see how they handle that and if they can find someone to adopt your dog. Sorry I could not help you more.
I would suggest you call the Humane Society in Newington and ask for their help. They are very caring and will try to find a solution for you. Another idea is the on line pet finder site. You put an ad in with a picture and people respond to you. We adopted our Shepard that way. We also adopted a cat from the Humane Society. Hope this helps.
