The only way you get "free" parking is to park at one of the park and rides along to light rail line, pay $2.20 A piece per direction( get a round trip), and ride the train to the 3rd last and Convention center stop.

Definitely ride the Lynx. I can usually get a parking place at the Scaleybark station. The last stop on the south end is at 485 and South Boulevard. It has a parking deck so it is shaded. I don't know anything about the North End.

You can pay cash at the station machines...if they're working.

Can you pay cash at the stations? I'm visiting this Sunday and going to the Convention Center for several days.

Yep, I parked at the Woodlawn station and it was very easy! When you get off at 3rd Street the Convention Center is to your right about a block.
