It is always special to dress up for the opera. It is a little dependent on where you're sitting. It would be wasted in the Family Circle 😉
Anything from tuxedo to jeans I have seen 2 weeks ago; yet looking sharp is looking good.
I think it is appropriate for every evening performance. Some opt for more casual attire but the venue calls for more formal wear. And the performance is always worthy of dressing up!
