I've never had deal with such situations myself, but last time I was there I saw Met people were waiting till the of the audience left, so they could bring a guy's wheelchair. I'm might be wrong, but I think people in wheelchair or crutches are usually being sitted on the aile seats. When you buy tickets online you are being asked if there will be any special seating arrangements. That's where you can click yes, and the Met workers will take care of you once you arrive to the theater.
