Well I got there about 6 and got a good view. Small pizza by the movie theater and soda. They check large handbags for alcoholic drinks, no smoking where you sit. These tribute bands are awesome!
Different bands have caused different crowds you don't have to be there by 4 but if you want near the front I would suggest be there by 6
It does get crowded, not sure on the beverages.
You can also enjoy the music from the boardwalk, beach, or if staying at the Hilton, your room balcony.
No u Do not have to be there by four to get a place for ur lawn chair. Yes u can bring a noalcoholic beverage in. No backpacks.
