Other communities (like Del Webb) allow open fencing. I know that it is currently not allowed but could this policy be reconsidered? As a dog owner, lack of fencing is a deal breaker and I really, really want to buy there.

Very, very few 55+ communities allow any fencing other than a pool safety fence. The majority of Del Webb communities do not allow fencing. Taking the dog for a walk many times a day is actually good for your health. If you only criteria is gong a community with back yard fencing, you might be miserable with the lack of other things like being far from airports and shopping.

Keep in mind that even if fencing was allowed, you dog would still be required to be on a leash. Only exception is at the dog park.

Will be up to board but would not count on change since all lawn care is provided

I'm not a resident in this exclusive expensive community but live here in Daytona Beach down 3 miles from LGPA Blvd. & have you thought about an invisible fence idea for your loving family pet member? Do you know for sure that fencing is out of the question? Maybe check back with the office with there website # & see if things have changed. I've heard of Del Webb communities too & we do have another area in the DeLand area called Victorian verse nice & so close to beach. Good luck & have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend you all.

Then it sounds like a subterranean electrical "invisible" fence is the way to go
