An hour or two will get you through the place if you take your time.
If you're just walking around, 10 - 15 minutes. Longer to stop and take photos. You can also stop and sit or walk around the fountain in the summer that becomes a skating rink in the winter. You can have a drink, snack or lunch at the Pavilion Cafe, which has indoor and outdoor seating.
