Clean, well supervised; a fun place to visit

Today was the last straw. Womens shower room has had a standing water puddle flies in shower and Id fell in the past due to wet slippery floors. They don't require guests to shower and lifeguards rarely watch the water well. The head supervisor whom is never onsite except for the dpr event this evening needs help with his communication skills or to be fired. Security lady who comes to work still intoxicated or under some other influence that causes brain fog. Everyone needs a drug and ba.5 test at this point for not doing their jobs to the best of their ability. If youve seen my daughter and I at this pool then you're familiar with how honest responsible fair respectful Iam and I follow the pool's rules. To be banned without reason or due to false accusations is just unfair and unjust. How many visitors had their own drinks and food on deck? I saw with my own eyes kids eating by pool and adults had their own drinks. I was told I couldn't and I listened. Not ever in the history of me breathing have I been nor felt "traumatized" "disrespected" or "discriminated" against before today at Banneker. That "Supervisor" needs more training when dealing with local civilians/citizens of the public as well as mentally challenged visitors. Everyone is not the same therefore should be treated as such. Something has to change or society will remain the same.

Open-air public swimming pool, clean and pleasant. Perfect for swimming, cooling off and dealing with the humid DC heat of summer.

The staff is extremely unprofessional. You guys need to get more specific when it comes to the bathing suit requirements. If cheeky/thong bathing suits are not permitted it needs to be officially written down and RESPECTFULLY enforced. When the staff disrespectfully and unprofessional informed me that my bathing suit was against the rules I told them that I understand and would be leaving. As I was laying down so I can dry off before beginning my journey home one of the staff members tried to continue communications with me. Being that I was laying down on my back and the part of my anatomy that was perceived as problematic to them was not visible I felt that their was no need to continue the conversation. I informed the man of this and asked him to cease conversations with me immediately. He told me that I had to leave at that moment, I told him okay and began packing my things up. He continued to pressure me to leave in a harassing manner. I told him to pay attention to my actions (I was literally packing my things and getting up) and to stop talking to me, and if the matter was in need of escalation he could call the police or bring security to make me move faster than a normal human being. He left and as I was leaving the premises he and the security guard passed me and continued verbally abusing me. This to me is a matter of disorganization and poor communication. If there is a rule, clearly communicate it. If the person wants to leave because they don’t accept the boundaries of an establishment they should be able to do so without being verbally abused and harassed. I am very disappointed, hopefully the rapport amongst the staff improves significantly.

It's Olympic
It is suppose to reopen Memorial day weekend.
*Click on pool's "webpage" and stroll down for link (it's in small font) ... DPRs site seems to not be updated.
Not if you're with an adult or guardian
If you are a dc resident its free. If not you have to pay online for a day pass
10am and noon. Sometimes early afternoon
No, lap lanes are used from open 'til closing (12-6)
No, it closed for the season on labor day 😥
It's open now
The pools will be open publicly in August
I believe you are allowed to
It should be open by now!!
They require for children to have their DC card if not they have to be exported by not adult. For adults, they want to see that he paid DC taxes if you do not have a DC government issued ID
Can't answer that one! :)
I am not certain. They offered them last year.
$7 if you are out of district, free for DC residents with proof of residency
No, cash is not accepted. Just show your ID and walk in you will probably be fine. But the proper process is outlined: https://dpr.dc.gov/service/get-swim-pass
Look at the DPR WEBSITE. You also can swim at some indoor pools around D.C. Indoor pools are open all year.
Here's the deal - everyone needs a DC ID card (from dmv, dcps, dcOne,etc) to access the pool for free. If you have an out of state friend with you they are supposed to require a paid guest pass purchased in advance, during business hours. Don't worry about that though, the pool staff just wants everyone to have an enjoyable and safe visit... Flash that Maryland, VA or North Dakota ID, smile, say thank you, and walk right on in... This is a really great pool for Everybody to enjoy together. See you this summer!
So i don't need to get an online day pass?
Yes, but you will need a DC School ID/DCOne Card each.
YES, you need to show your District of Columbia ID. It's free if you are DC resident
Generally between 78 and 82 °F
