I got a decent price from Carmax, still owed the lender and they paid that for no extra fee then cut me a check for the difference.

The process is easy. I think they are a little low on the offers, especially if you have an older vehicle
They will give you the Kelley blue book's price for rough trade even if the cars in great shape. Sometimes they do better, but more often they hit you with the rough trade price.
Carmax will straight up buy your car from you even if your not buying one from them.
If you take it to a car dealership, they can also look up the Kelly blue book on your car. Good luck!
