I'd say it's designed to be family friendly. The traveling exhibits tend the be aimed towards children, and I find the history section and planetarium shows to be more appropriate for adults.

Definitely family friendly I am 43 and had a great time, my oldest daughter is 25 and my 3 year old grandson all had fun.
