Must pros do not like having the public watch them practice, as sometimes it can be a distraction or even an annoyance. So if you do catch a pro practicing, consider yourself lucky. This facility, from my understanding, is the 'home court' for UCF. To the best of my knowledge a professional tournament has not yet been held at this location.
Yes i agree with the orevious poster. If you get lucky you can see the pros practuce on a general court, but foe the most part, they are in a private area.
I have caught a few pros training but much of the time they are in areas not open to public
Sometimes you can, it depends on the pro too, some are super laid back and want to mimic a match situation (with observers). You might be able to see pros hanging at the UCF home matches or watching their friends (that went to college) during spring break (super packed), there is a whole bunch of colleges playing matches during the day and night (also around town). In the spring there are ITF tournaments held on the grounds of USTA National Campus. If you “keep your ear to the ground” and watch the website, you can see a lot of cool events. My dad and I saw that Stan Smith was coming and we drove on over and stayed for most of his sons’ college match for the team he coaches, and on another time we (are pretty sure we) met the director of pro development.
You can sometimes see senior and super-senior pros practicing and also playing tournaments, such as the world championships held last October. I was there then and admission to the grounds to watch the world championships was free.
