My boyfriend was taken there last night for depression. They took his phone and now I have no way to contact him. How do I get him out of this place and back home where he belongs? How long can they keep him before he can willfully leave?

I was taken there by OPD after the murder of my son. Apparently a grieving mother is not allowed to scream, cry, & shout over the lack of ANY INVESTIGATION , in my own home. While in this insane facility, not only was I not allowed to grieve the loss of my son, I was held nearly a week & told by staff that anyone was eligible for employment at this nut house only 6 months after your release. Wow, does that explain alot!!!

My dad was admitted there via baker act. His wife whom he was leaving and his best friend are on cohoots saying he was leaving florida with guns in his car to drive out by me to shoot someone. He was not , he was coming here to live with me to escape her insane self. She was coming in the room in the middle of the night yelling at him to get out, she threw water at him. He was afraid she would do something crazy. He just wanted out of there. He is not a harm to anyone, I am very upset this has happened!! Unbelieveable that they can pull this on someones word.

He doesn't need to be there, especially 72 hours! He's not that depressed. He needs to be home. Is 72 hours the law to hold someone against their will? That seems like a long time.

He will have to be there for 72 hours depending on how he is doing. But if he's depressed then he may need to be there.
