Hy husband's daughter spent a week there, she is worse now than when she went. She's gone completely mad! They must have really done a number on her

When I call, information about my relative never appears, and the way they treat me is very bad.

WARNING! This place is more like a prison than a hospital. My 78 year old sister with Alzheimer's was Baker acted. Before her 72 hours were up, they illegally asked her to sign a document committing herself so she could not be released. She had no idea what she was signing. I filed a complaint against The Vines for elder abuse and will be contacting an attorney this morning to try to get her released. When she was taken there, they never notified the family to let us know she was there, she did not get her medications. I am my sister's Durable Power of Attorney and Surrogate health care designee but they will not give me any information about my sister. I have requested to speak with a doctor since she was admitted on 8/10/22 and to date I have not been able to talk to a doctor either in person or by phone. They do not care about the patient. They only keep you in there to collect medicare. I wouldn't even give them one star if that was possible.

My primary care doctor felt I was suicidal and wanted me to go into the psych unit at Malcolm Randall VA Hospital. Unfortunately, the VA psych unit was full but the VA contracts with the Vines to handle any overflow. This place was and I assume still is horrible. As I was being processed in, one patient was killing his roommate even though the psych techs check each patient every 15 minutes. My roommate snored like a lion roaring and could be heard clear to the nurses station. The nurses were too busy filling out paperwork to be bothered by anything so mundane as helping a patient. After two days a sympathetic nurse listened to my input and straightened out my meds. This facility only had one old blood pressure machine with only a raggedy medium sized cuff. My pressure was off the charts but nothing was done about it. I learned it takes the Vines longer to treat depression if you have good insurance. It took the longest to treat veterans because the VA paid for more inpatient days than Medicare or Medicaid or Blue Shield/Blue Cross..I would give a 0 star rating if it was possible. My PTSD was worse and I acquired bad anxiety and nervousness there. The best thing was the food and plenty of fruit and snacks were available in the utility room between wards. If you have control of where you go run from the Vines. The VA sent me clean underwear and clothing but I never received it. At my admission the tech told me that the Vines had a stealing problem. That's why I didn't get my clothes which had been sent. Someone at the twisted Vines stole them. The place is a for-profit organization so profit will come first.

Why u ask realy..come on like they realy care about there people they wont act like that..rude not even a hello. U only get 3 housr a week to go outside. If u cant eat some food well thats too bad..you go hungry..u let other kids in there hit other people and then do nothing about it..and if they do they get no food or outside..people in jail get more repects than this place
They domt care about no one. Report to stae close them down
Yes it is...
I would rather talk to you on the phone. Can you send me your phone number via email? They don't help anything. There are so many things a person needs to know before going to that facility.
No. They take everything even your bra
I hang up it take 3 hour's for him to call me back he said they didn't let me have the phone what going on baby girl i said will the baby fine and they said i will be having a c-section on the 18 bbay he said really he was so happy
Yes a lot of fees.
The Vines is significantly better than the Centers.
For Inpatient: tell them you're turning yourself in & you want to Baker Act yourself.
Jesus. But I wish I knew where here on earth. Your not alone.
Funny my husband said it took 6 hours so that is a short wait
If you are Baker acted, they have to take you regardless of ability to pay
Yes
3 days
I was taken there by OPD after the murder of my son. Apparently a grieving mother is not allowed to scream, cry, & shout over the lack of ANY INVESTIGATION , in my own home. While in this insane facility, not only was I not allowed to grieve the loss of my son, I was held nearly a week & told by staff that anyone was eligible for employment at this nut house only 6 months after your release. Wow, does that explain alot!!!
