Why don't you stop by the dog park alone a few times and check out the scenery. I went for the butterflies and did not pay too much attention to the dogs. I did notice that there was a big dog and small dog area. You also need a pin code to get into the dog park. I presume the pin is supplied by the city and you must show proof of vet visits and shots. BTW most pits are big sweetie pies.

There are many signs warning of alligators and snakes, so a dog is pretty tame for the area. As long as you aren't as frustrating in public as your comment sounds you and your dog will have a great time.
