You have to call and make an appointment (locally)
It depends on the reason for the update. It has to be an "emergency" for them to agree to meet with you. I have the same issue. My middle name is misspelled and I need a corrected card for employment reasons. They instructed me to download a form from the website, fill it out, send them the form, my original birth certificate and drivers license and they would send everything back with the corrected card.
