I agree with the last answer. Easy walk to the beach, but not with chairs and coolers and stuff. There are walkways and ramps or stairs....
The campsites are about a city block(250 yards max to the water) away from the edge of the campground . If you are on the furthest, I would guess 4 city blocks. Some primitive sites shown on the web page have a front row view of the canal.
Your not on the beach, depending where your campsite is, the closest you can get is next to the beach parking lot. If your hauling a lot of junk it can be a bit exhausting, so try to pack lite.
