So...in answer to the "just stop in comment". 1st, I have been an advocate of the shelter since 1999 when I made the Grand Strand my home. 2nd, yes...volunteers and BUSY. 3rd...here I am, having just stopped by on 20 Dec. 2018 at 1010 hours...and encounter a paper sign on the door saying: "Clinic is Closed Today". My wife called yesterday, explaining that we would be bringing a canine puppy in for it's shots. No mention of the closure then. As I sit in the parking lot, I have counted three females working in the facility. Meanwhile, my puppy and I have to return to Conway. This is why some of the comments on this thread have validity. #irritating.
Christina Craig just because one doesn't own a car has no bearing on there ability to properly care for a pet. What a shallow statement to make.
Every time I have been there they're extremely busy. It's nothing personal to you. They are all volunteers so I'm positive they are understaffed as well.
These volunteers are doing work from their heart no doubt. Just be glad that if they don't answer the phone that they're most likely caring for the animals.
Ok you have six people sitting at desk one of them can answer it is so diresecptful to people and when they need questions answered no respect. Some people are in wheel chairs or dont have a car just to stop on bye. Where do you get these people
Again to address the "not everyone has a car issue" if you don't have the money for a car, it is doubtful you have the resources to take care of a dog
Not everyone has a car to "just stop by"...
Cristina Craig, just bc someone doesn't have a car does NOT mean they can't care for a pet. Sometimes it has nothing to do with financial means and more to do with health reasons. People have their license suspended for health issues. Apparently you have lived a sheltered life and haven't had any misfortunes like the majority of the population. Be careful looking down on others bc God tends to put us in those same situations we look down upon. Your comment was not only insensitive, but also ignorant and uneducated. You have a harsh reality coming if you go thru life with that mentality. Since you have so much money that you feel the need to shame others, how about donating it..Bless you honey, I will pray for you.
Hey, Christina Craig, unless you're volunteering to fund a shelter for all those abandoned fur babies, maybe you should chill out on the money-shaming of people who make their pet a priority, even when they're personally struggling. Were you the one I saw tossing their dog on the side of the road, during a hurricane evacuation, because it wasn't convenient?
When i was there today they were of course busy but one of the girls kept answering the phone for the hour i was there!!!???
It's very busy it would be easier to just stop by
Christ Greg, you must be the grinch of the town. These VOLUNTEERs have a sole unlike you.
If you have money to donate, you would have a car
Thanks! Your answer is awaiting moderation.
If you need to re-home a dog due to owner illness or inability to care for dog, what should you do?
