It is an old logging cookhouse..It is full of artifacts from when it first opened
I made several business trips to Eureka in 1979-1980 and this was our main breakfast spot. The business we were working for had two Seafood restaurants that looked like dives but had the best and freshest seafood in town so I never experienced any other meals there.
It was a cookhouse for loggers. There are a lot of historical artifacts and information displayed inside. I don't remember any mention of a fire. We went to breakfast there a couple weeks ago. The meals are set menu for each meal, served family style, and all you can eat, just like it would have been when it served the loggers.
Yes it is the one that you ate at before it didn't burn down and I don't know where that rumor got started
Old loggers cook yes. Still there as of two weeks ago. Had breakfast
I've only know this place as the Samoa Cookhouse, and I first started coming here 30 years ago. Perhaps it was some time before that.
