One of our relatively new Harvey windows (the lower one) will not stay up all of a sudden. It is the only window we have that seems to have a small metal cord on each side. What is the problem?

Sounds like the sash simply may not be locked into the two clips on each side, installer should have showed you how to remove and reinstall the sash. It has to be in a certain position to remove and reinstall, a easy mistake to make, open that sash with the two release clip on top let the window down to 90 degrees then lower it into the clips u see then slowly bring it back to closed position. If it binds at all do not force it as either the clips are not seating properly or as fred mentioned possibly bent in which they are designed to bend before you break the window, if the installer is not a help, take a picture to verify this is the issue and pretty much anyone in any Harvey's branch can show u in store on a display how to remove and reinstall. Very simple to do yet again the window does need to be in a pretty specific position. Hope this helped, I'm a contractor in CT, do a good deal of business with Harvey's and they most certainly stand by their products- Bryan S

May have a broken clip. They have great guarantee. Call local store or installer.
