I am not sure what Academy requires to purchase a gun. Academy recently changed what guns they sell, at least according to media reports. In general, you will need a government issued ID, such as your driver's license showing your current address. You will complete an "online" questionnaire. If you have any felony convictions do not bother trying as you will be declined. Going during the week and during the day it is less busy. Still.should plan to spend at least an hour for the process. At least two store employees will review each phase of the process. Be sure you answer the government online questions honestly as it is a Federal government document. Good luck
