The front desk Receptionist; Melanie is wonderful! Cheerful and professional.! Running a front desk is NOT an easy task; trust me. My first office visit; I had the MISFORTUNE Of being seen by Dr. Meyer. He asked me where I lived. I told him. He said to me "Well, you must be a drug addict to end up there"... I was speechless!!! I began to cry. I told him. NO ! I ended up there because I was terminated from a very well known Local Agency that " Serves people with Disabilities". I was told I did NOT understand the Mission ... I asked the Person who said that; "Does the Mission involve your staff with their Heads in their phones AND does that Mission ALSO include your Residential Staff member stealing the residents Narcotics and then taking those Narcotics home to their "boo" as my co-worker put it,; HER WORDS not MINE" This Administrator; stood up and said " we want you gone." I told the doctor, I had just bought my house ; When I started this job. I was only in it for 8 months , I did the right thing. I lost the job, my health , insurance and I had to sell my new home. I ended up living in public housing because I couldn't go on living in Hotels . I left that Clinic that day humiliated. I got home and immediately called the Clinic and told them how unprofessionally I was treated,; being Judged by a physician! Who I think forgot the oath; that every Physician takes,; that reads in part ..." and first DO NO HARM... He did not harm me physically,; but my Soul? I have a feeling I am NOT alone in the way I feel about "DR. MEYER". I have worked in clinics and hospitals with Surgeons, OBGYNS, Pediatricians, and GPs Accompanying them on rounds; I was NEVER humiliated or Judged by these Physicians. I was treated with RESPECT as a valued Member of the Team. Dr. Meyer needs to be humbled or go Volunteer somewhere else!!!! I personally would like to see him Censured by his peers. The Rest of the Staff is wonderful. I now only see Libby the R.N and I think; She is also a Nurse Practioner. She cares about her patients.; She had the same Ethics and mindset as I do. G-D Bless Libby! I know I am in very capable hands! This clinic is a Blessing because I would not be able to have my HTN meds without it! Thank You Community Medical Clinic.!!!

The office staff is great and the lady that does the vitals is great as well. I do have an issue with Dr Meyer. I understand that this is a free clinic. However, for him to not want to listen to you is pretty sad. People go here for help, but this Dr doesnt want any part of hearing you. When I asked if I should continue to take blood pressure meds,he says yes. I told him i was out. This Dr told me to go back to where i got it from. EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!

You have to have a Medicaid denial letter and therefore a social security number. Such documentation would not be possible if you entered this country improperly.

How do you sign up? Is it walk in or appointments only?

Siara Stefanko | Sep 24, 2018

This is not a walk-in clinic. You do need to have an appointment. In order to become a patient you need to live in Aiken county with no insurance coverage and be diagnosed with one of the following chronic conditions: COPD, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, seizures, high cholesterol, or thyroid issues. If you do then you qualify to go through the screening process to become a patient at the clinic. At the screening appointment the social worker will explain how the clinic works, the rules of the clinic, and get your health history. If you qualify, then you will get the next available appointment with one of the clinics doctors. Everything is completely free at the clinic, including medications. The doctors, nurses, and pharmacists are volunteers and work out of the kindness of their hearts. All you have to do to make a screening appointment is call the clinic at 803-226-0636
