I would not recommend STAYING in this area of town. The park is LOVELY, even in the evening, but it is in an area of town that is undergoing rejuvenation, and the park is a bit of an "island".
There are a number of hotels in the area with rooms that can be rented hourly. There are also a number of hotels in the Tanger shopping center just up the road.
