It can be, but there are many options that include cooked fish and vegetables.
If you get a nigiri it is a raw cut of fish over a ball of sticky white rice. If you get a sushi roll it is usually a cooked piece of fish with vegetable. I would recommend the california roll, spicy tuna, or philadelphia roll. A step up would be an unagi roll, or a mahi roll. I love nigiri but if you are not a constant sushi fiend as myself I would stick with the rolls until curiosity gets the best of you. Good luck!
