The other respondents are correct, you can call the title office. You can also fill out this form: http://www.dmv.ri.gov/feedback/ A supervisor will research your record and get back to you in about a week. Remember, if you took a loan out on the vehicle, the title may be with the loan company.
You have to call the title and research office they are open 8:30-3:15.
