There's a woman who has
My 14 year old son was attacked by a 75 lb pit bull while the dog owner did nothing to stop the attack. It was the fourth time someone was attacked by the same dog. When I called the police, the responding officer asked, "What do you want me to do about it?" I insisted that he come to our house and take a statement. He wrote just two things on the report, "Dog bite", and our last name spelled wrong. The office called us later that evening to say that the dog owner didn't answer his door so there was nothing he could do. The law reads that the dog should be quarantine for ten days. I had to threaten the court to conduct a dangerous dog preceding. 2 weeks after the attack the health department declared that the dog was not rabid. They STILL HAD NOT IDENTIFIED THE DOG! Don't accept this response. It is our duty to make sure that what happens to us, does not happen again to someone else. It is the, "glad it wasn't me" mentality that allows this treatment of the people.
