You're right, it's tacky. Tacky for a patron to attempt to shame a business publicly for their business practices. Margins for a dine-in restaurant are margin-thin, and it's just smart to discourage frivolous ordering with charges for condiments. Besides, they're looking out for your cholesterol, so rejoice!
