Yes pontoons are available for rent. I've rented one before. They give you a map and direct you to the bay waters. Pontoons are not good for the open sea waters. I took my family to a secluded area of Lover's Key. Anchored in the shallows and had the warm clear water and beach to ourselves for the day.
