Beautiful walk. It's about 50/50 boardwalk and dirt. You'll encounter puddles during rain and the wet season.

The cottage was closed when we visited, but there was a Porta toilet in the parking lot. Hiking shoes are recommended as there are portions of the trail that do not have a boardwalk. Also make sure to stay on the lookout. We scared a racoon that was right next to the trail!

Can you fish here

Rick Scaggs | Sep 19, 2019
Andrew Michie | Sep 19, 2019

Yes. But Florida fishing regulations and laws are applicable you need a license that is not a licensed doc so you need at least a fishing license if you're a Floridian you at least need a Shore license which is free the water is very shallow there probably the best thing you'll get out of there is probably a mangrove snapper there are catfish that you'll probably catch more of if you're taking a kid it's a great place to go. I go there all the time just to walk it or ride it it's a great place I remember it when I was a kid when I went to the beach School only it was Woods back then those Trails used to be used by the mosquito control district you can actually drive cars through there before from the beach school to Madera
