I have a 9 year old jack Russell/Spitz, looking for a good home for him. He doesn't do well with young children. He's gotten grumpy with age. I work so much that I just can't give him attention needed. Would SPCA take him to find him a good home?

I recommend a rescue also.. If the SPCA gets over booked your dog could get put down.

Take him to a rescue their are several around

The SPCA charges $35 to take surrendered pets to help offset the costs. However, if he is grumpy, and they would not be able to come him, they would most likely euthanize him. Please take him to a very first to rule out illness causing his behavior.

Is there cost to surrender him that your aware of?

Amanda Brooks | Sep 19, 2018

They should take him. I would just be very honest on the surrender form when they ask you about him. The more they know about him the more likely they are to find him the proper home so he isn't returned over and over.
