It does matter. If you want to get your money's worth I would go early! If you dont buy the Express ticket you probably won't go through all the mazes. I bought the express ticket and finished around 1 with only waiting 5-15 min max & enjoying dinner at Jurassic cafe . Also, HHN closes at 2. The terror tram stops around 11-12.

I've always bought tickets online with early entry and get there 20 min before they open. I went last weekend and did every maze, a couple of the bigger ones twice, and was home by midnight. Lines get long and that's the best way to avoid them without shelling out for the front of line pass.

No matter what time you get to HHN, it's always packed. They said if you get express pass after 11 pm, it'll be regular price but you have to buy them online because they'll be sold out by that time, and you still have to wait in line because almost everybody has a express pass, and since the park closes at 1 am, you won't enjoy much on 2 hours. I respectfully say IT SUCKS!!!
