I recently purchased a 2016 Tuscon LTD. Ultimate. There was no Scan Disk card with the vehicle. Do I need that to make the navigation work? Also, will the scan disck card have enough memory to allow me to activate android car play?

Usually Scan Disk card goes with the book to Multimedia System, that you have in your glove box department, and yes, you need that to make navigation working. To have Android Auto working you need to download this app to you smartphone and plug in your phone to the screen.
