Take the light rail from downtown Mountain View Castro station. Its 3.75 for round trip and takes you right to the stadium. No extra cost.
Light rail to levi's.same price
Thanks everyone!! Very helpful but his mate dies the light rail run to get to downtown San Fran
Take VTA from Mountain view or Sunnyvale, very comfortable and cheap
There's plenty of hotels around the area close to the stadium and walking distance. If you want cheaper hotels, choose one that's next to or close to light rail station, the train drops passengers next to the stadium. I haven't heard of extra charges for events held prior to games. The crowd starts early though, pre-game party, tail gate, whatever you call it. They park their vehicles at the stadium to BBQ, drink, loud music and eat all day. There's also lyft, uber drop off and pick up. Depending, what time the game starts, you fly to San Jose Airport (SJC) take the free VTA bus to light rail station, then to the stadium. Going back is the same, just make sure you take the Winchester or Santa Teresa train, both will pass by the free VTA bus to the airport.
The VTA Mountain View - Winchester line stops at the Stadium and is convenient. It runs from downtown San Jose hotels, north, and past Levi Stadium, then west out to Mountain View. If you stay near that line, you won't have any transfers. It you are taking a car to the game for tailgating, there are lots designated for tailgating, with and without open flame. Parking is $40 to $50 and can be pre-purchased.
