If he's very anxious, you can request the first appointment of the day. There are fewer dogs in the salon so it's quieter and much less stressful.
My dog is very afraid when I take him to the groomers, someone advised me to try Healthy Spot, my dog behavior proved to me they took great care of him. He was happy as ever. That being said! I think he would be okay there, or you can always have a mobile groomer come to you. I don't recommend a mobile groomer though, it can get very loud and you'll just end up with another problem by making your dog afraid of the groomer.
