Many people fly (and players during HOF Induction weekend) into Albany and Drive south on I88. But if you need a larger airport Syracuse would be the closest one.
Syracuse is the best to fly into to vidit Cooperstown. Smsller airport with good service
Cooperstown is central to three commercial and one municipal airport. The Oneonta Municipal Airport is the closest paved airport to Cooperstown, just 20 miles south of the village. Albany International Airport, located to the east, the Greater Binghamton Airport, located to the south-west, and Syracuse Hancock International Airport to the north-west, all around a one and a half hour drive. Once you’ve arrived in New York, you have several options of getting to Cooperstown. All commercial airports will have bus, available hired drivers, train, and car rental options.
Maybe Albany
Big airport would be Syracuse maybe?
