We stayed at a Best Western outside of town. It was about $220 for two nights, after taxes. It was a beautiful drive in late fall, but I could see traffic being a problem in the spring and summer.
I stayed at Best Western. Approximately 4 miles from HOF. However, there's a multitude of choices available. Go online and Google hotels/motels in Cooperstown NY.
I stayed at Best Western 4 miles from Hof. Got good price on priceline.
The Holiday Inn Express had nice, spacious rooms. The continental breakfast was nice

A lot of good bed and breakfast places. We liked the White House Inn walking distance to the museum
