There are a few options. You could take a plane into Albany NY 1.5 hrs away or New York City JFK/LaGuardia airports 3.5 hrs. From NYC you might find a bus to the area or you could rent a car from either locations. I don't know if there are bus trips straight into Cooperstown but they do have them in to Oneonta (20 min away) and worst case you could get a cab into Cooperstown. I hope this helps a little.
