what kind of water softener salt should I use?

I only put in 2 bags at a time so that when the unit recycles it dosen't for a "bridge " dome in the tank.

Calli is correct, coarse solar salt, it is a clean crystal salt usually in a blue and white bag

For mine they said to use the blue bag of crystals (not pellets) that I got from tractor supply
