I went the same day as the WWII musuem. It took about 1 hour to go thru. Its smaller then most museums but well displayed and packed in without feeling crammed. I believe the building was a old church. If you watch American Pickers they did a episode about it. You can get a glimpse on that show. I enjoyed it . If your vacationing in NOLA you have to go to the WWII MUSUEM as well. We compared it to a Universal Studios theme park experience . Everyone is impressed with it.
Go to LANCASTER aldi
A lot. It's a small meditation, but it has many items, uniforms, pictures, things soldiers brought on campaign, letters, weapons, flags, even Jeff Davis' slippers. He was a small man. It's also true that people were generally smaller then though, due to illness and nutritional issues in childhood.
You will enjoy it if you like history.
